Two pioneers will be leaving us this fall. Both Rita McCombs and Shelley Anderson are ending their time here as SHS staff.
Anderson has been here for 16 years and is the school registrar. She has all the duties that have to do with enrollment, withdrawals, schedules, transcripts, report cards and supporting the counselors.
She plans to spend more time with her grandkids and get involved with health and wellness careers after this.
“This change will be very bittersweet. I love the counseling center and they have become family to me over the years, but I’m excited for the next chapter of my life,” Anderson said.
Alyssa Sedgwick will be changing from attendance tracker to take over Anderson’s spot as the registrar.
McCombs has been here for six years. Although she has been in the Oregon Trail School District since 2002, as an elementary school principal’s secretary.
Her job includes assisting athletic director Garet Luebbert with scheduling the officials and the bussing for athletics, clearing students for sports and helping with the master schedule. She also assists the coaching staff and prepares the awards for athletics and activities.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to work with the students and staff and I have truly enjoyed my years of service in our community. When I think of my retirement it is very bittersweet, as I will miss the staff and students greatly, but I am very excited and happy to have more time at home with my family and grandchildren,” McCombs said.
