The varsity volleyball team has been fighting to win since the season began. They started the season playing Gresham and lost after three sets. Their overall league record so far is 4-8 with four wins, two against Reynolds and one against both Barlow, and Centennial.
“Time and practice has helped us overcome most of our issues. It’s just a matter of being flexible and enjoying the process,” senior Brooklyn Starley said.
The varsity volleyball team has been putting in extra effort to create good bonds with each other. After suffering the loss of five seniors last year they are trying very hard to rebuild and move forward.
“We are still learning to work together as a team and improve our communication skills on and off the court,” senior Emma Hall said.
On Oct. 12, the team faced off against Reynolds High School. With an exciting five set game, Sandy came out on top with the win.
The next home game will be Oct. 20at 6:30 p.m. where they will be facing off against Central Catholic Rams. Their last home game will be Oct. 21 where they will compete against Clackamas and honor their seniors at the annual senior night.
